QB BATTLE IN BOULDER
One of the biggest questions for Colorado going into the 2025 season is who will run out with the first team offense between true freshman Juju Lewis and Liberty transfer Kaidon Salter. Both Qb’s have a huge upside but if your Coach Prime who do you go with one day one?
Kaidon Salter transfers over to Colorado from Liberty with three years of college football under his belt as well as 5,887 yards passing and 56 touchdowns and 17 interceptions while at Liberty. It’s no secret Salter can sling the rock the 6’ 1” quarterback is a similar build to that of Shedeur Sanders and having experience in college football means he will not be as green coming out of the gate starting in the Big 12.
Juju Lewis is a true freshman coming into Boulder and was one of the top quarterback prospects in the country. The highest rated quarterback to ever come to Boulder was high sought after by Coach Prime after decommitting from USC he committed to Colorado. A good option QB and another quarterback who can throw the ball around the field. It may be a good option if Salter can’t cut it in the Big 12, the only problem is he is young and green not turning 18 until September Lewis will be very young for a starter in a power four conference.
Best option in this situation for Coach Prime would be to start Salter and possibly intergrade packages and plays for Lewis like what Urban Meyer did with Tim Tebow his first year at Florida and learn from Byron Leftwich and OC Pat Shurmur. However, if Salter is not playing to the best of his abilities expect Lewis to be in soon.
